FIRST PRIZE WAS WON BY PAULA VILLUENDAS NAVARRO AND SECOND PRIZE BY CRISTINA RODRÍGUEZ PÉREZ
The winners of the “Mi Rincón Favorito de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat” (“My Favourite Corner of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat”) competition were announced this Friday: the first prize, consisting of 200 euros, was awarded to Paula Villuendas for this photograph, while the second prize, consisting of 100 euros, was awarded to Cristina Rodríguez Pérez for this photograph. Their photographs were selected as the best entries from over 140 that were submitted for the competition under the hashtag #mirinconfavoritoLH.
The aim of the competition was to stimulate participants’ creative capacities and boost the promotion of tourism within the city by encouraging citizens to get involved. With this aim in mind, Instagram was chosen as the social network platform for the competition: not only due to its extensive social penetration (especially amongst younger people), but also for its ability to enable the participants’ creations to go viral.
The competition forms part of the national initiative titled “Mi Rincón Favorito” (“My Favourite Corner”), to which 40 Spanish municipalities have signed up in order to showcase the most outstanding aspects of their region. At the national level there will be five main prizes and five runner-up prizes, with the winners to be chosen from among the participants in the local competitions:
There are also five runner-up prizes of 50 euros.
The winners of the national category will be announced on 27 September, to coincide with World Tourism Day.
“Mi Rincón Favorito” forms part of the actions taken by the City Council to strengthen, promote and highlight the city’s attractions as a leading destination for urban tourism at the metropolitan, national and international level, in line with the measures set out in the City Pact.
