YOU CAN TASTE TAPAS MADE BY DIFFERENT RESTAURANTS IN THE CITY AND ENJOY MUSIC AND SHOWS LIVE IN PLAÇA D’EUROPA FROM 25 JUNE TO 1 JULY   THE CITY COUNCIL WILL PARTICIPATE IN MWC21 WITH AN INTERACTIVE STAND SHOWING THE PROCESS OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE CITY   THE CITY COUNCIL AND GSMA HAVE PROMOTED THE PROGRAM #LHOSPITALET 6.0, WITH 14 EXPERT WOMEN EXPLORING AND ANALYSING HOW EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES INFLUENCE ESSENTIAL ASPECTS OF SOCIETY

After a year of absence, the Mobile Word Congress returns to the Fira venue in Granvia L’H and with the L’Hospitalet Experience, the initiative that the City Council, in collaboration with the Gastronomy and Tourism Association of L’Hospitalet and Baix Llobregat and other entities, restaurateurs and cultural agents of the city implements to make L’Hospitalet known to the visitors of the event, disseminating the importance of mobile technologies among citizens.

This morning the presentation took place with the participation of the mayor, Núria Marín; the CEO of GSMA John Hoffman; the Councillor for Education, Culture and Innovation, David Quirós, the President of the Gastronomy and Tourism Association of L’Hospitalet and Baix Llobregat, Óscar Teruelo; the businessman and cultural activist, David Lafuente, and Rosa Vallejo, influencer and image of this year’s campaign.

At the beginning of the event, Marín and Hoffman went to one of the urban gardens and planted an orange tree, a tree that will bear fruit in late February, dates that will coincide with the 2022 edition of MWC.

Mayoress Núria Marín said that “the best thing about this edition of Mobile is neither the number of visitors, nor the economic impact it will have, but the fact that it will be held. The fact it opens its doors is a success”.

John Hoffman, for his part, emphasised that although “15 months ago our lives changed radically, we can now say that we have come out of this test stronger and more cohesive. This edition of the MWC plays a relevant role in exiting the crisis”.

The meeting presented L’Hospitalet Experience, located in the middle of Plaça d’Europa, which will host an attractive cultural and gastronomic proposal until 1 July, a space designed so that people who visit L’Hospitalet can enjoy the gastronomy and culture of the city thanks to the dishes prepared by the restaurants and the programming of shows and live music.

An event that, this year, coincides with the Summer Experience, a programme of music, dance, circus and theatre that reaches all corners of the city and that will make the first nights of summer in L’Hospitalet come alive, brimming with culture.

These are the different spaces that can be found in the Village:
- The Fun Space. This space is for cultural demonstrations and musical and theatrical performances. There will be a stage and stalls with chairs, all surrounded by vegetable gardens.
- Gastronomic Space. A large, shaded area under cover, with bars, the restaurant area and tables and chairs where you can sit and enjoy food and drinks.
-The Chill-Out Space. A space designed to relax and take a break outdoors with ambient music.
- Orchard Space, where attendees can see a typical urban garden.
- Organic produce market. The organic market with local produce from farmers in the area.

Safety measures

The middle of Plaça d’Europa, where this edition will take place, will have fences around the perimeter for the first time and a controlled capacity. There will be a single point of entry, where the temperature will be taken from everyone who accesses it, and a single exit point. There will also be hydroalcoholic gel available to attendees, and the use of the mask will be mandatory if required by the current regulations of the PROCICAT. There will be a private security service that will ensure compliance with the rules on the premises.

Payment can only be made by credit card or via electronic devices. In addition, the plates, glasses and cutlery will be disposable, and in no case may they be shared.

Institutional stand

L’Hospitalet City Council will for the first time have a space inside the hall. It is a stand of 50 square meters, which aims to show the process of digital transformation of the city,  L’Hospitalet 6.0, and gather experiences and knowledge of those attending the show.

It consists of three areas:

1. Space with multimedia support where presentations of companies and technological entrepreneurs of the city will be held.

2. Meeting area, information gathering and dissemination of the city. Material on the Experience outside will also be distributed.

3. Interactive area: Two screens where you can watch video recorded with Lead 360 technology, which will allow you to move the scene displayed on the screen with your hands and without contact with the device.

You can visit key locations in the digital transformation process in the city at the stand:

- La Florida Market: La Florida 6.0, the heart of L’Hospitalet's journey towards digitisation.
- Barrina Tower: Social transformation through innovation and digitisation.
- Casal de Can Serra: Empowering our seniors to reduce the digital gap.

The #L’Hospitalet 6.0 programme

L’Hospitalet City Council and GSMA organised the #L’Hospitalet 6.0 programme from 15 to 22 June, which preceded the celebration of MWC21. This is a series of conferences and round tables under the generic name of  “Connected impact: a technological transformation on a human scale”. 14 leading women in their professional fields explored and analysed how emerging technologies influence key aspects of society. Sensitive issues such as cybersecurity, ethical data processing and the fight against misinformation were discussed. In its seventh edition, 380 people followed the conference in streaming format through YouTube and the Torre Barrina website.
