A la tardor, platillos! concludes with 80% more dishes sold than in 2021

THE 8TH EDITION OF THE TAPAS TOUR INVOLVED 25 ESTABLISHMENTS, WHICH SOLD MORE THAN 8,400 DISHES

The 8th edition of the A la tardor, platillos! (Autumn Tapas) tapas tour, which ended yesterday, saw 8,467 dishes served; 80% more than in 2021 (4,700 dishes) and an increase on the pre-pandemic sales levels (6,115 dishes in 2019). Between 1 and 27 November, 25 establishments offered a series of autumnal tapas dishes made from local products and sold at a price of €4.

A panel of judges consisting of Carmen Alcaraz, the heads of L’Hospitalet’s Training and Employment programmes, and representatives from the Food Service and Tourism Training Centre, the Food Service Association and the food blog “L’Hospitalet Gastronòmic” will select the winners of three of the four awards handed out for this edition of the tapas tour: the Tastiest Tapas, the Most Creative Tapas and the Best Culinary Quality Tapas.

The winner of the fourth category (L’Hospitalet’s Favourite Tapas) is chosen by the public, who voted for their favourite dish using the ballot boxes provided at the participating establishments. The winning restaurants in each category will be announced in a special ceremony, which is to take place at Diversus on 12 December at 5:30 p.m.

A la tardor, platillos! is an initiative created by L’Hospitalet City Council’s Department of Tourism and Economic Promotion, and forms part of a series of projects designed to promote and revitalise the local culinary scene and consolidate L’Hospitalet’s status as a destination for food tourism. Other projects in the series include the tapas tours that take place in the city’s neighbourhoods, and Primavera de Tapes (Springtime Tapas).

The initiative also forms part of the City Council’s drive to promote high-quality cuisine and make it accessible to visitors and residents of L’Hospitalet.
