They arrive the Jazz & Film Sesions, the fusion of the cinema and the best jazz in direct

The initiative is a tribute to the magic of the cinema and they suppose an impulse for the recovery of the sector of the music live. The first sessions will have place of the 16th in the 18th September with the goal to establish a stable programming along the year. The EMMCA participates in the morning sessions of Saturday

Cinemas Big Filmax Via shows the Jazz & Film Sesions, a new initiative that intends to give tribute to the magic of the cinema with the best jazz, fountain of inspiration of some of the best films.

The Jazz & Film Sesions will take place of the 16 in the 18 September in the Room 1 of the cinemas, reconverted for accommodating music in living, with the projection of a film followed by a musical performance. Jazz & Film Sesions has the collaboration of the Town Council of L'Hospitalet and the participation of the EMMCA. The initiative also pursues to give impulse to the recovery of the music live, a sector that spends difficult moments because of the situation sanitary.

The Jazz & Film Sesione aspirate to become a regular programming along the year in a new suitable polyvalent space to make performances live and that become a brand recognized of new cultural contents, at the same time that they promote the brand L'Hospitalet.

One of the goals is to give support to the collective of the artists of the music in living, affected severely by the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, and to demonstrate that it is the culture safe if the fixed measures are respected by the sanitary authorities.

Preference will be given to the artists linked to the city, since the initiative wants to link itself to the cultural entities of L'Hospitalet. In this sense, an agreement of collaboration with the Municipal School of Music-Center of the Arts (EMMCA) that a singular space of broadcast will have has been arrived at. Will also be facilitated that, some of the artists who perform in the events, can give master-classes to the pupils of the EMMCA to share its experiences and experiences in the jump in the work world. It is necessary to remember the city being a world-wide referent in the Jazz Manouche.

The Jazz & Film Sesions want to use the force of the Cinemas Filmax Gran Via, with the numerous public who visits the facilities annually, for promoting this innovative initiative in the cultural sector, a differentiating offer that wants to promote the brand of city.

The organizers expect to consolidate the Jazz & Film Sesions in a festival of reference in the city with a strong outer projection, in the deadline of some three years.

In the project the company Fluge, specialized in the production and the audiovisual equipment, also participates.

19 hr Projection of Cabaret, of Bob Fosse

22 hr Performance of Laura Simó and Francesc Capella Trio. Laura Simó and Francesc Capell have collaborated along the years in several occasions, already the same ones are in foreign groups or in those that it has formed. They show the show My Favourite Things, devoted to the music of the American cinema, with emblematic subjects of the thirties the 80 of them.

Friday, 17 September

19 hr Projection of Ray, of Taylor Hackford

22.30 h. Performance of Ignasi Zamora Blues Reunion. Meeting of four of the more musical ones requested of the national panorama about a proposal of blues led by Ignasi Zamora. The band revises classical subjects of blues of artists like Robert Johnson, B B King, T. Bone Walker, Muddy Waters or Lowell Fulson, among other. With own compositions and genuine arrangements of the band of other generations filtered towards the blues of composers like Bill Withers, Tom Waits, John Lennon, Steve Winwood, James Taylor and other.

22.30 h. Performance of Gorka Benítez Trio. The saxophone tenor Gorka Benítez is the best narrator of stories of the jazzístic panorama of the country and one of the most personal and solid voices in the international area. Tenacious, restless and brave, it shows the direct Him best of Gorka Benítez, a selection of the most representative subjects of the trio formed by the guitarist Dani Pérez and the battery David Xirgu.
