The new directive Plan of environmental education of Hospitalet-Horizonte 2030 approved of

The Town Council has approved initially of the new directive Plan of environmental education of The Hospitalet-Horizonte 2030, elaborated after an extense participative process and with the support of the Regional Government of Barcelona. The plan establishes all a series of transversal actions that have to develop in the town to make the citizenship aware in general about the effects of the climatic emergency and to act in accordance with the goals of sustainable development of the Agenda 2030 of United Nations.

The environmental education spreads to any educational process that drives to a better knowledge and understanding of the environment and, therefore, to a dam of attitudes responsible towards the environment and the human dimension, tendents to fostering the sostenibilitat and palliating the effects of the climatic emergency.

Thus, the purpose is to consolidate the concept of sostenibilitat among the economic and social agents and the set of the citizenship of The Hospitalet -with special attention in the educational community, the municipal staff and the associative world-, in order to achieve a collective transformation that allows to attain the goals of Agenda 2030.

The directive Plan of environmental education of Hospitalet-Horizonte 2030 fixes six great goals:
. Consolidating and making the net of sustainable schools grow.
. Consolidating good practices of sostenibilitat from the Town Council.
. Empowering to the citizenship and the entities so that they are implicated in the environmental challenges of the town.
. Promoting and spreading the resources in environmental education that there is in the city.
. Promoting the spaces of encounter for working the environmental education in net.
. Promoting the environmental governança in The Hospitalet.

The plan is sorted through 20 tractive projects from the environmental education in The Hospitalet. One of the most immediate is the renewal of the program L 'H Sustainable Schools, that he bets a project of center to act as the sostenibilitat and as the goals of sustainable development, with the incorporation of the environmental education as a transversal and curricular axis, the implication of the students in the improvement and maintenance of the environment, and the physical transformation of the centers.

In the internal organization of the Town Council, it is foreseen to fall upon the education for the sostenibilitat from the performances of the several municipal areas. Because of that, a transversal commission that will establish environmental common goals will be created the projects and it will allow to adapt the strategies in each neighborhood, as well as to form and to foster the good practices of the municipal staff.

To the associative area and of civic action, an increase of the formation and the participation of entities and companies in actions of environmental education are proposed, thus how to promote initiatives of environmental voluntary workers and projects of civic science.

As for the divulging, campaigns of broadcast will be made, a web page will be created and the use of the urban natural zones will be increased like educational spaces, among other initiatives.

All these actions will be carried out through a work in net, with the coordination of the implied administrations, the cooperation with the educational agents and the development of a net of material resources. At the same time, the good practices and the civic participation in processes of governança will be fostered.

The participative process to elaborate the new directive Plan of environmental education has had the contributions of more than 300 persons, across interviews, several virtual workshops and directed questionnaires to the profiles of population and entities of the town more related with this area.

With the new Plan directive of environmental education of The Hospitalet-Horizonte 2030, the Town Council makes a step more in the impulse of policies of education, sensitization and information environmental already present in other municipal initiatives, like the Plan of adaptation to the climatic change, the Pact of mayors and mayors for the energy and the climate, the Pact of city and the Plan of performance municipal 2020-2023.
