The Plaça Europa Library is the latest library to join L’Hospitalet Libraries, opened in May 2010.
The library, designed by the architect Eduard Calafell, is located in a new building between the neighbourhoods of Santa Eulàlia and El Gornal, and is named after its location: Plaça d’Europa.
The library becomes part of the cultural, social and commercial fabric of the area, consisting of schools, entities, shopping centres, offices and new homes.
The Plaça d’Europa Library coexists in the same building with a nursery (“La casa dels contes”) and a service centre for institutions.
The spaces are distributed on a single floor of 963 m2, as well as a small garden.
The lobby, loan area, adult section and the internet service are distributed in an open space, while the children’s section and the multimedia room are isolated from the other areas.
